My Visual Odyssey !
I call myself a DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHER and a visual storyteller, seeing the world not just as it is but as a canvas for stories waiting to be told. Before I even held a camera, I was drawn to the stories of child laborers beaten in brick kilns, women standing as shadows in roadside brothels, or workers who endured long, grueling 15 hours for just $2 but still managed to smile. What propels me forward is the desire to craft images that reveal what people often miss, even though it surrounds them every day.
I can still remember the beautiful voice of my mother whispering, “If you achieve a GPA of 5 in the Higher Secondary Examination, then I will GIFT you a DSLR camera.” But my fascination with photography began long before that promise. It started with my father’s first mobile phone with a meager 0.3-megapixel camera that felt like a doorway. Each evening, I’d sit by the lake behind our house, surrounded by white water lilies and dense trees, taking a single shot of the setting sun. Day after day, I captured the same scene under different lights, watching how the shifting colors changed the entire mood of the place and quietly pulled me deeper into the world of images.
From that first 0.3-megapixel kaleidoscope to the present, at 28 years of age, I believe I have come a long way. Over the years, I have amassed more than 65 PRESTIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS, and my work has been exhibited in prominent galleries across more than 40 countries, including a high-profile exhibition at the PARIS OLYMPIC GAMES 2024. The images I create have appeared in leading global media outlets such as National Geographic, The Guardian, The Times, Telegraph, Daily Mail, Express, CNN, and the BBC, earning recognition for their ability to provoke thought, stir emotions, and capture the raw beauty of humanity.
Through collaborations with renowned organizations such as UNESCO, FAO, and other nonprofits, I have led projects addressing urgent global issues. My focus on environmental advocacy came to the forefront when I was named ENVIRONMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2023 & COLLEGE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2024 for a portrayal of the river’s pollution crisis in Bangladesh. This iconic photograph was featured in over 150 major media outlets worldwide, amplifying awareness about sustainability and encouraging environmental consciousness. I currently work as a photographer and contributor for renowned international agencies, including ZUMA PRESS (USA), NURPHOTO AGENCY (ITALY), and SOLENT NEWS & PHOTO AGENCY (UK). Through these collaborations, my work reaches a global audience, capturing pivotal moments that reflect the complex narratives of our time.
My identity is defined by my photographs, which capture both the beauty and the complexities of the human experience and forgotten landscapes. I strive not only for my photographs to leave an indelible mark on the world of visual storytelling but also to serve as a powerful force for change. I cannot imagine a day when my photographs fail to give voice to the unheard or cease telling the stories of those who NEED TO BE SEEN.
